Adrenal Fatigue

We treat the cause. . . not the symptom

The Adrenal Glands

Under physical, emotional, or psychological stress, the adrenal glands produce cortisol, the “stress hormone”. Problems arise when the adrenal glands produce too much cortisol over a prolonged period of time. Additionally as the back up sex hormone (e.g. progesterone, estrogen) production glands, the adrenals come under added stress in women who've had hysterectomies. Eventually “adrenal fatigue” may develop, a condition where the adrenal glands have difficulty producing cortisol. Symptoms include: • Inability to handle stress • Fatigue even after a long night’s sleep • Weakened immune system • Joint pain • Loss of muscle tone • Poor circulation • Low sex drive • Low blood pressure • Lower back pain • Extreme tiredness after moderate exercise • Asthma, allergies, respiratory issues • Dizziness Abnormal levels of cortisol can also wreak havoc on testosterone production.
