The Benefits of Thermography

We are proud to partner with Heat-Images to offer thermography services.

Thermography is FDA approved as an adjunct to mammography. It is not meant to replace mammography.

Mammography screening looks for masses of cells. Mammography can detect a mass of cells when the mass is the size of a pea. By that time, there are an estimated 4,000,000,000 cells within the mass.

Thermography looks for temperature changes in the body. A “hot spot” in the screening result is a sign of inflammation, meaning the body is attempting to deal with an abnormality in that particular area.

Thermography can detect a “hot spot” when there are 800 cells. The time span between 800 to 4,000,000,000 cells is between 5 and 10 YEARS.

Thermography offers the opportunity of earlier detection of dysfunction in any area of the body than has been possible through self-examination, doctor examination, mammography, ultrasound, or x-ray alone.

Thermography screenings can be used to analyze and assess a patient’s overall health and wellness through breast scans, region of interest scans, and full body scans. It is a radiation free medical imaging tool that is suitable for men, women, and children.

Thermography has applications in many areas of the body and can be used as either a preventive screening tool or for those patients having symptoms in any area of the body, has a family history of disease, or is treating/monitoring an injury.

While mammography, ultrasound, MRI and other imaging methods are tests of anatomy or physical structure, thermography is a test of heat produced by increased blood vessel circulation and metabolic changes associated with a structure’s genesis and growth.

All thermography screenings are painless, radiation-free, and require no contact with the body.

The major clinical value of thermography is in its high sensitivity to pathology in the vascular, muscular, neural and skeletal, systems, and as such, can contribute to the pathogenesis and diagnosis made by the medical provider.

Heat-Images also offers body composition analysis testing that utilizes near-infrared technology. The analyzer provides a detailed body composition analysis of body fat, fat mass, lean mass and more, all without the inconvenience of pre-test protocols, pinching, or disrobing. Health professional consultations are also available.
