Meet Our Team
Lauren D. Loya, M.D. is originally from Greensburg, PA and is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Northwestern University Medical School. She completed her Family Medicine Residency training at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
She spent 10 years practicing Family Medicine, primarily as family medicine residency faculty. She served as the Associate Director of the family medicine program at St. Elizabeth hospital in Chicago, then as a faculty member at UPMC Shadyside Family Medicine Residency Program.
She left UPMC in 2008 to start her own integrative and holistic medical practice, The Hormone Center. The mission of the practice is to combine traditional medicine with a more holistic method of treatment that strives to uncover the root cause of illness rather than just managing symptoms.
She is a Board Certified Family Physician and holds an additional board certification through the American Board of Integrative and Holistic Medicine (ABIHM).
Amy Hursh, D.O. is originally from Rhode Island. She graduated from Muhlenberg College (Allentown, PA) with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She obtained her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
She performed her Family Practice Residency at Frankford Hospital. Upon completing her residency she worked for the U.S. Navy at the Naval Weapon Station in New Jersey where she helped run the wellness program for the medical clinic on base.
Dr. Hursh’s philosophy: “I believe that the body has the ability to heal itself as long as it has the proper elements supporting it.” As a former competitive athlete, Dr. Hursh knows that diet, exercise, and sleep are vital to feeling 100%.
“I am happy to be working with The Hormone Center and doing something that I believe in. BHRT is like giving a plant water and sun to make it flourish. We are no different. This area of medicine is innovative and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.” Dr. Hursh most recently trained under Dr. Loya.
Jennifer Hook, CRNP, is originally from Butler, PA. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree from Slippery Rock University, Jen completed her Masters of Science from Slippery Rock and Clarion Universities. She has been a Certified Nurse Practitioner for 18 years and her diverse experiences include mental health and behavior modification. Additionally Jen has worked with digestive disorders for patients with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Jen enjoys working in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure high quality patient care. She most recently joined the The Hormone Center from Butler Integrative Medicine. As Jen states: "I love being part of The Hormone Center team where we never stop looking for solutions to help patients!" In addition to being Nationally Certified in Family Medicine through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Jen trained directly under Dr. Lauren Loya.
Jeannie Anderson, CNHP is a member of the National Association of Certified Natural Health Professionals (CNHP). Dr. Anderson graduated from the Trinity School of Natural Healing, and holds certifications in Total Body Modification, Energy Systems Maintenance, Natural Healing, Nutrition, Iridology, Reams Testing, Dried Blood Cell Analysis, Bach Flower Remedies, Reflexology, Children’s Health, Hormone Health, Healing Emotions, Muscle Testing and Student of Ortho-Bionomy®.
